Reaching Funding - Now What?

Reaching Funding - Now What?

Its been a pretty wild month. I recently completed a trip of the west coast since I wanted to move there later this year. While traveling, I had a chance to kick it with new friends, see some incredible nature and just experience new things. Someone I met over there let me fly one of the planes in his flight school. So unreal. I am thinking of making the ITEM blog more personal day-to-day projects or ideas so I can get stuff off my chest. I feel like less people read here compared to the other websites I run, which are much more product focused instead of lifestyle. Ill talk about that later on - since we should talk about how the campaign over at Indiegogo hit 100% funding. Insane!

What happens now? So essentially, Indiegogo holds the funds that have been pledged for a few weeks. Im not sure why, but I guess they might need time to process the payment and send it over into my account. You can also see how much they charge for using their platform and how much they charge for people who used a Credit Card (Payment Processing Fees).

Inside the plane I flew in Squamish, BC. Obligatory watch-in-aircraft Instagram shot.

Indiegogo actually stopped allowing projects to use Paypal as a payment method which was disappointing since like 90% of my customers pay me that way. I think it has to do with the fact that there were way too many disruptions with payments going through and such. My experience with Paypal has been  pretty solid, but some projects get insane traffic and I bet Paypal freaks out a bit when that happens. Fun stuff - won't be an issue here if its direct transfer to my bank account.

I've been wearing two prototypes every day now, so I am really confident on the reliability and quality of the components I decided to go with. I already gave the OK to the manufacture to start production last week when it reached 100%. Since I verified the last few details it was ready to go - I just wanted to make sure the project would make it. I have also been coordinating with my print shop for the packaging and such - it should be pretty special. Im super stoked on how the samples came out. Ill be putting together each box and doing QC for all the Indiegogo orders. Packing and shipping will likely also be done by me so ill throw in a personal note for each person. That should be fun :)

Other than that - I will try to keep everyone updated with everything that happens, good or bad. Thanks everyone so much for the support and love! Getting it to this point feels pretty surreal. If you are reading this, you are likely one of my friends who backed this project and already know how to get in touch with me. If you don't have my direct contact, feel free to use the contact form in the "About Us" page and shoot me an email - I usually reply within the hour. Hope you enjoyed some of the shots I took during my west coast visit!
